TFM: CO-OP: WEEK FOUR REFLECTION

My fourth week at TFM was a short week since I had memorial day off on Monday, which was nice, but it was still a productive week none the least. This week I continued to work on my project, which is very close to being complete. The main goal for this week was to create a database for all the data from the EDI files to be stored in. It took a couple days to organize a plan for how we would create this database to make sure we had correctly stored all the necessary data, and to make sure it was created properly and efficient. I came across a few challenges in creating the database tables, for example for each status there can be multiple descriptions for one set, so I had to make sure each description was mapped to the correct carrier id from another table. After I finished up the database on Friday I got a head start on creating a view page, so the carrier can view their status according to their order number. During this week my advisor and another member of the IT staff were at the International PHP Conference in Berlin. So due to their absence, we didn’t have our daily scrum meetings as well as the weekly IT meeting. Also with them gone I was to resolve most of my issue I came into myself, which was a good learning experience, but having experienced programmers, to help lead you to the right way to fix bugs is a great resource to have.

I give myself a rating of 5 this week. I created our database and got a good head start to creating the view page for the customers to interact with. Looking forward to next week!
