What laptop should I use in the IT program? See this page.
I just finished an awesome class project and want to share it with the world, how do I achieve that? Make sure the project runs in your jail and is accessible from the internet. Then send an email to mvoortman@pointpark.edu and we will add your project to the student projects page.
Where can I find the tutorials? One of the most useful areas of this websites is the tutorials section. You will find all kinds of information that is useful in completing your coursework (or even outside), ranging from setting up your FreeBSD jail to installing databases to running web servers. Most courses link directly to these tutorials but reading the getting started section is helpful no matter what.
I’m interested in work study opportunities, what do I do? Sometimes there are open Federal Work Study positions related to IT. They are the most technical FWS positions on campus and it involves doing computer repairs and diagnostics for the Computer Service Center. These positions are a great opportunity for IT majors to gain real world experience. If you know of any students who are looking, please feel free to send them my way.
