Hello world, my name is Sergio Flores and I am an Information Technology student at Point Park University. As part of the program, a Co-op opportunity was presented and I would be taking advantage of such experience over the summer. As part of the requirements for the Co-op, I am to complete a Weekly Reflection Blog and this is my first attempt for my first week with Vitti & Vitti & Associates.
Vitti & Vitti & Associates, PC is a Government Sponsored Enterprise (GSE) approved firm. The firm is able to provide services for GSE and non-GSE loans in Pennsylvania and New York and non-GSE loans in New Jersey (GSE accreditation forthcoming). They are able to appear in state and federal courts in all three states and it is woman-managed and co-owned. Their clients include financial institutions, default servicing companies, and small, medium and large businesses, they provide services for complicated financial processes such as foreclosures, collections, simple and complex commercial litigation, Family Law, Bankruptcy Protection, and Creditor’s Rights.
My first week with Vitti & Vitti was an exciting and interesting one, to say the least. I should mention that I am changing career path and this is exactly what I was looking for: to gain experience, hands on, in my new field of study. While this is a small firm, I have been advised they handle a large amount of work and during these few days I realized this was an understatement. Some of my duties will include analyzing the existing processes with compliance, regulatory audits, reports, budgets, and the full foreclosure cycle, as it pertains to best utilization of technical resources, analyzing the health of the existing database for possible maintenance needs and understanding of systems, as well as a revamp of the existing website.
For my first week on the job I give myself a 5 for I was adamant at meeting with everyone on the firm and inquiring about all of the processes described above and I started drafting a list of priorities which I think will change constantly. For my first 30 days, I would continue getting oriented within the organization while understanding my responsibilities as well as those of each and every person currently working for the firm.
See you soon.
