When we revamped the IT program a few years ago, it was our vision to use JavaScript in most of our programming courses.

The reason is that we envisioned that JavaScript would become even more important than it already was. Not only is it supported by every browser, it also runs on the server through node.js and is popular for mobile devices as well, e.g., React Native.

Now, as the following article indicates, it is also starting to get a foothold in the space of desktop applications. This means the JavaScript skills you will learn in the IT program will become even more widely applicable, and this also means there will be a higher demand.
